Fees

Fees

The fees are freely set by mutual agreement between the lawyer and the client according to the nature and difficulty of the case, the time spent and the diligence carried out, the notoriety, seniority, experience and specialization of the the lawyer and the client's financial situation. (Article 11 of the National Internal Regulations).

  • First exchange (telephone or video - duration of 15 minutes): free

This first contact allows you to present your issues and needs, and allows me to determine the conditions under which I can support you (proposal of associated fees, definition of services, strategy).

Except in cases of emergency, the firm will establish a fee agreement to transparently ensure the conditions of intervention (the amount or method of determining the fees covering foreseeable diligence, as well as the various costs envisaged).

  • Flat rate fees

Flat-rate fees (fixed sum determined in advance) are offered whenever possible.

Examples:

- Privacy policy (excluding cookies): from €800 excluding tax

- Legal notices: €100 excluding tax

- Website GDPR compliance check: from €350 excluding tax

- General sales conditions: from €1,000 excluding tax

- General conditions of use: from €1,000 excluding tax

- Searches for prior trademarks and registrations (depending on the number of classes concerned): from €300 excluding tax for 1 class of product or service

The amounts indicated above may change depending on the project – in all cases a quote will be sent to you before any service is carried out.

  • Fees for time spent

If the nature of your case does not allow the associated fees to be anticipated in advance, a fixed hourly rate will be applied.

The firm's usual hourly rate is €250 excluding tax for companies, €200 excluding tax for individuals. Depending on the nature of the file (in particular for young companies or small businesses, associations) a preferential fee may be offered.

The client is kept informed of the time spent in the file as the services are carried out and invoiced at regular intervals, according to agreements. A detailed statement of time spent is always attached to the invoice.

  • Result fees

Depending on the nature of your file, remuneration with a fixed part (fixed price or time spent) and a variable part calculated on a percentage of the result (gain obtained and/or savings made) may be considered.

  • Long-term subscription/support

The VILFEU firm regularly supports companies as an outsourced lawyer: in the context of replacing maternity leave, in the event of a temporary increase in activity, in the event of recurring needs without wishing to create a full-time position, etc.

As part of such contracts, I work for the company for a specific weekly time (for example two days per week), on various subjects and at a preferential rate.

A legal assistance agreement will then be proposed.

This type of intervention (in principle limited to advice and pre-litigation) allows the company great flexibility.

For my part, I enjoy assisting companies using this formula because of the variety of subjects submitted and the in-depth knowledge of the client thus enabled.

In this context (or within the framework of subscriptions), I have notably worked for an agri-food company (recruitment phase of an employee), occasionally for a transport engineering company (following the departure of 'an employee and hiring freeze), an SME publisher of computer software (recurring solicitation ins the year on various issues).

  • Provision

Before initiating the first steps, payment of a provision for costs and fees will be requested.

  • Terms of Payment

Payment by transfer, check or cash.

Payment in several installments possible

Any dispute over fees may be lodged with the President of the LYON Bar Association.
